Organisation
- Using the GK to play out from the back - create a 5v3 overload in defensive third.
Coaching Points
- Two CBs to span the width of the 18 yard box but take up a position higher than the 6 yard box in order to create an angle where they can see GK.
- RB and LB to take up a positon where they can see RCB/LCB
- RCB & LCB take up a position where they can see both GK & FB
- GK to play to either CB & then take up position outside nearest post, in order to protect the ball from the goal and give CB the option to switch the ball through them to opposite CB. GK to take up posiiton where they can see both CBs.
- FB's position will be determined by the position that the nearest CB takes up and the angle which FOR player is taking up.
- Important than CB in possession of the ball has both GK and FB as an option.

- Ball side CM can pull wide and take up false full back position.
- Ball side FB can then take up a more advanced position further up the pitch
- Allowing LWF to roll inside and take up a more central roll or create a 2v1 overload in the wide area.
Key Points
- Movement from ball side FB needs to be early, giving WF a decision of who to press.
- As the FB taks up a position further up the field, the ball side CM can take up the space vacated by FB, providing a outlet for the CB in possession of the ball.

- Goalkeeper distribution - CB drop deep into 18 yard box to invite pressure higher up the pitch.
- GK - plays a lofted pass into eiter CM who secures the ball and plays ball side FB in a wide position.
Key Points
- CB to take up a slightly deeper position to invite the press further up the pitch.
- CM to make movement away and then drop down the line creating space between opposing CM
- GK to play ball into CM, opposite CM drops off to create an angle
- Ballside FB releases, as the CM drops into space and provides a passing option for CM in possession

Principles
- In Possession - Aim to build up from the back and find the spare player
- Out of Possession - Protect the middle and show away from goal
- Attacking Transition - Secure first pass
- Defensive Transition - React quickly
Organisation
- 17 players
- Attacking team set up in an adaption of 4231 position - 422.
- The two forward players act as LWF/CF or RWF/CF - depending on what side the ball is on. If the ball is on the right hand side, nearest forward pulls into channel to take up RWF position and opposite striker becomes CF. Same roles are taken up should the ball go down the left hand side of the pitch.
Oppositon
- Set up in a 3-2-3 formation
- Press high and be aggressive
- Attempt to win the ball as high up the pitch as possible
- Create goal scoring opportunity in 5-8 passes when winning the ball back.
Success
- Beating the first block
- Advancing over the half way line
- Final third entry
