Lateral Movement Training
Begin with fast feet, on coaches signal the middle player takes off in one direction and outside players must mimic.
Expand into seeing if the outside players can beat the middle player back to the cone.
Variation:
Outside players go the opposite direction of the middle player

Lateral Movement 1v1
Decription: Player A must move laterally with B following. They are trying to make a cut to break through the cones. Once they break through they receive a ball from C. Player C comes out to defend quickly and 1v1 begins. If Player C wins possesion they score by dribbling into one of the outside boxes.

1v1 Passing/Receiving (20 mins)
Goal: This 1v1 soccer drill focuses on practising basic passing and receiving skills. This one on one soccer exercise also emphasises basic defending and attacking skills in 1v1 situations.
Setup: cones are used to create an approximately 7x12 meters square in front of the goal. Place three more cones in triagle about 8 meters apart in front of the marked area as shown. Players change their positions continuously in alphabetical order. After attacking in Position C player goes to the end of the defenders' group.
Description
Players pass to each other with two touches: receiving and passing. Player C accelerates towards the marked area. Defender can act only in the area. When attacker dribbles through the defender he performs a shot on goal. When defender takes the ball he has to dribble outside the area.
Coaching Points
Accuracy and weight of passes are vital
Correct angle of receivings
Change pace to dribble through the defender
Defender has to take up the speed of the attacker. Defender has to try to position himself to the side of the dribbling foot
Keep the ball on the ground
