Description

Half a pitch divided into 5 zones with horizontally placed cones across the pitch roughly in line with positioning of defensive and attacking lines in the pitch.

GK in end zone

Defending 2/3/4/5 in next zone

Attacking 7/9/11 in next zone

Defending 6/8 in next zone

Attacking 6/8/10 in next zone

Defending 10 just over half way line.

Players are not allowed to leave their zones.

Detail

Ball starts with either GK or attacking 6/8/10 on half way.

Blue team have to find passing lanes to move the ball forward to 7/9/11 and then forward again with a pass to the keeper (not trying to score - only to pass to the keeper). Players can pass the ball within their zone as many times as they want to move to ball to create space for forward pass.

Defending red team have to adjuct their position horizontally to cut off forward passing lanes and intercept.

If they intercept they then have to try to work the ball forward through their lanes into the player in the other half of the pitch.

Progression - limit time or number of passes in each zone to raise speed and intensity
