Skill training
30 X 40 pitch
5V4 with the team of five attacking the big goal.
The drill starts from the halfway line with a neutral bouncer serving to the attacking team.
Players cannot run with the ball, encouraging more passing and receiving with first touch
The team with 4 players score in the small goals when they win the ball
Rotate Players regularly so they play on both teams
Coaching Points
Position your body so you can see the ball and the goal
Contiunally scan the area so you can determine where to take your best first touch ( Towards next pass or shot)
Within shooting range, can you take your first touch towards one post and then shoot across the keeper to the opposite post.
Progression
The team attacking the big goals cannot play back to the bouncer.
Play 5 v 5 with the coach acting as bouncer- both teams can use the coach.
Now, the coach only serves to start and players cannot use the coach
Both teams can play the neutral bouncer during the game.
Narrow the pitch to reduce space and increase pressure on first touch

Repeat exercise down both sides
Coaching points
Can be receiving player position himself so he can see both the ball and his next pass or shot?
The player passing the ball should aim for the furthest foot of the receiving player. I.e. B receives with the left foot and C receives with the right foot.
Step up/variation
Increase the weight of the pass to put pressure on your teammates first touch
Check away from the defenders towards goal before coming back to receive the pass.
