Setup:
Field setup as shown - grids are 10x25
2 teams
Activity:
Passer initiates movement by rolling ball and then passing into attacker.
Defender tries to win the ball or clear out.
If attacker turns defender they take shot near top of box (defender can't defend).
Priorities of defender:
1) Anticipation: read cue and win ball -- Passer rolls ball before pass right between attacker defender
2) Tackle after negative touch -- Passer plays into attacker who touches negative before trying to turn.
CP: Tackle after 1st negative touch; Timing
3) Don't let turn -- Passer plays into attacker who tries to turn.
CP:get low and side on to read play; step in front to win space if they try to turn

Intervals:
2 min work + 1 min rest x 6 = 18 min
Setup:
2 outer grids of 25x20; central grid of 25x10
3 teams of 5 or 6
Activity:
Team in possession must complete at least 3 passes before they can switch play to opposite side.
Only defenders can earn points by: 1) Steal ball and score in counter-goal (3 points ) or 2)Steal ball and play into central defenders (1 point) or 3) Central defenders intercept pass (1 point)
Coaching Points:
~3 central defenders keep gaps small between
~Reading cues of when to step up vs. drop off
~Checking shoulders to see who to screen (intercept pass)

Teams in 1-4-2-1 vs. 1-2-2-3 with neutral #10
Activity:
Introduce 3 pass, 3 second pressing idea:
If team has completed 3 passes or more in zone, then press in that zone.
If not, 1 player presses and rest of team retreats one zone.
Normal soccer rules except following:
+ Goal worth 3 points
+ If win ball in attacking 1/2 within 3 seconds, earn 1 point.
