Rotate defenders after 1 minute
Coaching Points:

Coaching Points:

2. Balancing defender needs to make sure they can intercept the diagonal ball
3. Distance between defenders
4. Closest player needs to continue to pressure.

Chain Game
Chain Game Warm Up
15 Minutes
20x20 Grid - adjust for number of players
Equipment: Bibs, balls (optional)
This is a good warm up when session focuses on small group defending.
1. Attacking players each holding a bib. Defenders in pairs, both holding onto 1 bib so that they are linked.
- Defenders attempt to tag attackers. If attackers are tagged, they join the chain. Last player tagged is the winner.
Coaching Points:
1. Communication between the defenders.
a. Pick out a target and attack as a unit. Do not break the chain
2. Angle of approach. Do not chase players around but shepherd them into smaller spaces.
a. Shuffle your feet and keep players in front of you. Working as a unit to force the play where you want it to go.
