Instructions:
Defender plays to attacker then joins area and the two go 1v1 to the offset goals. Play until the ball goals of play or a goal is scored. At that point next defender plays is to the next attacker. Game is continuous. Swap roles after 3 mins.
Coaching Points:
- Quality of pass,
- Speed of pressure,
- Angle of approach,
- Last step in, first step back,
- Body position - Side on, stay low,
- Eyes on ball
- Front foot poke tackle when the time is right.
Progressions:
Competition between the two teams.

Instructions:
1st defender passes ball to one of the two attackers and game begins. The 2nd defender must run around red cone and can then join game to make a 2v2.
Coaching Points:
1st Defender:
- Speed to press ball
- Defensive position, Eyes on ball, Stay low
- Force play left or right
- Be patient, waiting for the cues to make a tackle
2nd Defender:
- Speed to recover
- Communication with first defender

A and B pass back and forth. Whenever either player stops the ball the other must defend them 1v1.

Progressions:
- Receiving player now dribbles across to where defender started from. Defender must move feet quickly and stay between attacker and the endline. How far up the field can we confront the attacker?
