Session Objectives:
-To be able to utilise different skill moves to beat a defender
-To fully understand when to defend and when to attack
-To identify the decision making process; when to pass/dribble/shoot

Set-up:
-Player and ball activity
-On command players perform various skills around mannequin
-Players dribble opposite ways to avoid contact
Coaching points:
-Technique over speed
-Equal time per foot/side of body
-Maintain body balance throughout the movement
-Exaggerate the fake, correct foot surface and accelerate
Progressions:
-Perform skills after a touch towards mannequin
-Remove mannequin, player now dribble at each other and perform the skill to the opposite side to avoid each other

Set-up:
-1v1 game attacking team plays to single goal in middle
-Defenders counter to side goals when they win possession
-Defenders begin with ball, pass across area and step on the field to defend
Coaching points:
-Positive first touch to attack the space
-Use of moves/skills to unbalance defender
-Combine speed and skill together- not one or the other
-Transition D-A or A-D (game replication)
Progressions:
-Vary the service to star the game; throw in/loften pass etc

Set-up:
-As above but now a 2v1 in favour of attacking team
-Defender passes into counter goals if ball is won
Coaching points:
-1st attacker must draw in defender to create space for 2nd attacker
-Support play of 2nd attacker (wide, high, overlap, diagonal run)
-Decision making from 1st attacker (when to pass and when to dribble)
-Option of second run after pass is made to provide and option again
Progressions:
-Vary the service to begin the activity- Throw-in, lofted pass, driven pass
-Play 2v2 (if players grasp support play in 2v1 scenario)

Set-up:
-6v6 game with no GK's
-Half/three-quarter sized field split into middle section and wings
-Central defenders/offensive players can only stay in central zone
-Full backs and wingers can only stay in the wide zone
-The activity encourages 1v1 play, attacking/defending, marking a man and basic game stategy for players who lack an understanding of where to be on the field
Coaching points:
-Game understanding of where to be positioned and where the ball could potentially go
-Receive the ball with head up and decide whether to drive into space or pass to a teammate
-Passing in correct areas
-Can offensive players beat the defender in a 1v1 situation; centrally or out wide
-Encourage players for trying hard and playing positively
Progressions:
-Add offside lines
-Add shooting lines
-Smaller goals
