Set up 4v2 or 5v3 with ball on a flat cone in the middle of a circle made with flat cones. The Attacking team (Red) works to move the ball around. Goal for Attacking players is to knock ball off flat cone in middle. Defenders (Blue) need to work together and talk. Who presses ball, who covers?
If Red steals ball, they score a point and turn it back over to Red.
Red Players score one point for knocking ball off cone.
Blue Players score by winning the ball from Red.
Guided Questions: What works best for defenders to cover and protect? How do the attackers best create opportunities to score?
Answers: Press and cover - communicate. Work to anticipate the defensive break down and run to cover. For attackers, quick passing and clean touches.

Setup:
Use final third: full width and mini goals for defense to shoot on at 40-35 yards. (Double or a little more than the penalty area.)
Attacking team has overload: 8 v 6.
Defending: 1-4 formation (add a midfielder if needed to balance)
Attacking: 1-4-3 or 3-4-3. This attacking formation simulates sending outside backs forward to help and allow midfield to pinch in on a 4-3-3.
No line outs - restart at the back for attacking team.
