Yellow - Outside Midfield
Quite simply, on offence you must provide width and stretch the other team's defenders out of position. When we lose the ball, you must retreat into the wide spaces outside the box in order to help the 2 center backs.

Green - Center Midfield
Protect the middle of the field. In our formation, we have 2 people in this space in order to overload the area and give us a numerical advantage. We should have one midfielder deeper to protect our defenders incase we lose the ball, and one higher to supper to striker and outside mids.

Blue - Forward
Shoot the ball! Be confident to dribble and beat players 1v1, if you need help you have the wide midfielders as support. When you get near the box, hit the ball hard. When we lose the ball, wait around the halfway line as an outlet for when we clear the ball. You can move to the side of the field where the ball is, right or left.

As a team we must move together. When the ball goes high, we step up. When we are under pressure, we drop back. If the ball is with a wide player, we shift over. These are key words that we have spoken about and you will hear me shout ALOT.
There's a famous saying in soccer... "You can't have tactics without technique" but I don't believe it. We worked hard this winter to refine our skills, all of the players improved and we learned some good tactical stuff too. We will keep working on our footwork but I think it is important that every player understand not only their own role on the field, but the role of their teammates. Afterall, you have to trust in your teammate and their ability to do their job. There are only a few occasions when you should leave the areas I have highlighted and there is never a good reason to be stood right next to one of your own teammates.

Defence
Red - Defenders
As there is only 2 of you, your job is to stick together and protect the goal. Do not get dragged into the wide areas, if our outside midfielder is not back to help you, keep your position and make the opponent try to dribble towards you. Once you leave your area it creates a big gap in the most dangerous area for them to pass/dribble into.
