Passing Pattern 1

- CB Split

- Timing and movement of midfielders and FB to get into open pockets as CB receives ball.

- Breaking defensive lines with forward passes.

- Ball into targets can be driven along the ground to feet; or in the air to body; or over the top into space for them to run onto; and requires support underneath from the midfielders and FB.

- One and Two touch in defensive area as to speed up play out of own defensive 3rd and not get caught on the ball under pressure. Only dribble out when have the time and space to drive at a pressing defender.

- Recognize starting positions and distances from each other.

- Space will be in behind opponents FB's as extra player in midfield and 2 central strikers should pull the opponent FB's up and in. Can attacking team create overloads out wide through midfield 3rd with FB's, #10, and strikers to transition into attack.

- CDM holds back with CB's to basically create a 3-5-2 in attack.

- Proactive runs, awareness of space and teammates, and communication is KEY!
