Organization
- 15x15/20x20 area set up as shown (red cones)
- Group A: 7 players (5 Attackers & 2 Defenders)
- Group B: 7 players (3 Team of 2 each with different color & 1 Neutral player)
- 1 Ball per group (additional on outside)
Activity - Group A
- Attacking players (Yellow) set up around the out side of the area with one team mate inside
- Outside players can move anywhere along their line to receive & pass the ball
- Inside Attacker (Yellow) can move freely inside the area & looks for combination opportunities
- Attacking team aim to keep possession of the ball to score points
- (1pts) 8 consecutive passes on the outside (2pts) playing through/across the area using inside Attacker
- Defending players aim to win the ball & keep possession. When this happens 1 Attacker (Yellow) from the outside can enter creating a 2v2.
- If Defenders make 3 consecutive passes they can choose 2 Attackers from the outside to take their place as Defenders
- If Attackers win the ball back they must play to outside team mate & activity repeats with 4 Attackers on the outside
Activity - Group B
- Players work in pairs, with 3 teams each having their own color (see diagram)
- Yellow & Red team are Attackers with Blue team as Defenders
- Attackers must stay on the outside of the area & aim to make 8 consecutive passes
- Attackers can use Neutral player who is free to roam inside area
- Defending pair aim to press & win possession of the ball
- If possession is lost a transition occurs, with the color who gave the ball away turning into Defenders
- (See Diagram) Yellow looses possession to Blue. Yellows are now Defenders while Blue are now Attackers & must keep the ball & move to the outside
Coaching Points
- Pass: Accuracy, Weight, Speed & Type
- Possession: Keep the ball rolling & keep it!!
- Touch: Can you play 1st time?
- Receiving: Be alive & ready to receive the ball. Adjust body & feet to play quickly
- Disguise: Use your body & eyes to deceive the defender
- Creative: play off the cuff, feel the game & situation!
Progression
P - Adjust the size of the area: smaller & tighter to increase speed of play & thinking!
P - Touch Limit. Attackers can only play 1 touch maximum

Activity
- Team play 3v3/4v4 possession game inside smaller area (circle)
- If odd numbers a Neutral player can supports the team in possession
- Team in possession looks to make 6 consecutive passes before they can then break out to score
- Attacking team can use team mates on outside of circle, who are restricted to 1 touch maximum
- Neutral players supports the team in possession of the ball
- After 6 consecutive passes attacking team break out of circle & look to score in designated goals
- Team can use the whole area to score & team mates on outside now join in the play to create (5v5+1)
- If Defending team wins the ball they must make 6 passes before scoring
- When a goal is scored or ball goes out of play the activity restarts in smaller area & players reset
Coaching Points
- Possession: Quality of pass, possession with a purpose & circulation of the ball
- Support: Aware of space & surroundings. Can you be an option between/behind opposition?
- Transition: Reaction as an individual & team. Break out, make the pitch big & seperate the opposition
- Awareness: Which is the best goal to score in? Look for the cues: out numbered? overloads?
- Finishing: Be positive in front of goal!!
Progression
P - After 6 consecutive passes the "break out" pass must be played outside the circle to run on to (see diagram)
P - Adjust the consecutive pass count
P - Must be a one touch finish into mini goals

- Coach acts as server
- 2 Mini Goals set up as shown

Activity
- Players are assigned a number 1 to 5 & play directional possession game inside area
- Attacking team must play into Target Player at one end & then the other to score point
- If odd numbers a Neutral player can supports the team in possession
- Coach acts as a server on the outside of area & at random calls out a number
- Players with those numbers race into smaller area to win ball played in by coach & play 1v1 game
- Players in 1v1 game must score in designated gate by dribbling
- Possession game continues in larger area with remaining players
Coaching Points
- Possession: Quality of pass, possession with a purpose & circulation of the ball
- Support: Aware of space & surroundings. Can you be an option between/behind opposition?
- Transition: Reaction as an individual. Get to the ball quickly in 1v1 game
- Finishing: Be positive in front of goal !!

- In Possession: First touch must be forward or pass backwards first time
- One touch finishing into mini goals

Organization
- Set up multiple 10x10 squares
- 7 Players maximum per square (5v2)
- 1 Ball per square (additional on outside)
Activity
- As players arrive to training they join "Rondo Square" game
- Aim is for attacking players on outside to keep the ball away from defenders (1 touch max)
- The first pass is always free
- The player who gives away possession swaps with one of the defenders
- Each player defends for two plays
- If attackers make 10 consecutive passes defenders repeat in the middle
- If defender gets "nutmegged" without touch that player repeats in the middle
Coaching Points
- Anticipation: read & react to the situation
- Awareness: position of team mates & defenders
- Body Position: feet & body in correct position ready to play
- Pass: type, speed & weight of pass
- Receiving: Be alive & ready to receive the ball

- If attackers split the defenders without a touch pass counts as two
- Attacking players on outside must take two touch
