2v2 with end men - all in to start, one touch finish - target men have 2 touch - must go through target man to score to begin. Progress to allowing use of both end men when in possession - can play end to end to encourage forward runs.
Coach Points:
Encourage third man runs through early forward passes.
Decision making - when to pass/dribble
Combinations - can we overlap/wall pass/takeover etc
React and recover in transition.

5v2/3 rondo to start, aim is to control play before looking to play forward to a runner from the square who looks to score. When the runner goes to score - one defender ( on outside) can react and recover to defend 1v1. If defenders win ball back at any time, they can score in either goal as quick as they can.
Coach Points:
Build up - calm controlled always on the move to be an option.
Body shape - can top man stay open so he can turn quicker to get in on goal?
Combination - can top man set a runner to play into the final third to score?
React & recover.

5v4 - attacking team play a 2-3 formation, defenders play a 2-2 formation (box) goalkeepers rotate in goal. Aim is to focus on build up in attacking third of the pitch. CMs have 3 touches no 9 has 3 touches until he gets into the box, wide men have unlimited touches.
Goals of practice:
Diagonal Passes into the 9 - no 9 find half spaces on outside shoulders of centre backs or in between them - can we set fast and accurate to get ball into final third?
Supporting mids - behind & beyond the ball - 3rd man runs - Run off the back of the opposition midfielders.
Full backs/wingers - can we make blind side runs of opposition defenders
Box - no 9,10,8 and opposite winger
React and recover quickly to losing the ball

warm up
1. Pass & follow - man inside passes out. follows his pass, outside man then comes into play and passes to opposite end & follows. Add in one two with outside player
2. Same sequence but dribbling - skill move through the square, and dribble out to outside man.
3. Progression to only middle men working
- middle man receives & turns and plays out the other side, before he goes to get it again and repeat.
- outside man plays long to second man in middle who sets the first man to play out the other side (up back through)
