Key Factors - Dealing with 1 v 1 situations when the attacker is through on goal.
Organisation
- 20 x 10 yard playing area marked out using cones (yellow) with line of cones (red) across the playing area creating a 3 x 10 yard scoring zone.
- 1 GK, 3 attackers (with a ball each)
- Attacker enters the playing area dribbling the ball with the aim of getting the ball into the scoring zone. Ball must be stopped inside the zone. GK closes the player down to prevent the attacker scoring by sing the relevant technique learnt in part 1 of the session.
- Other strikers then go in turn from different angles of attack to alter the GK's position.
Progression
- GK throws ball to attacker. Attackers touch will affect GK's decision to close or hold postion.
- Once ball is dead, next attacker sets off to encourage GK recovery line/positioning
- GK could be on front foot ready to close the attacker down quicker.
