Description

Setup: 30x40m area. 12 players. 6 vs 6 (reds vs blues). 1 red player and 1 blue player (end players) will be located at each end (outside) of area. Creates 5 vs 5 in the middle. Swap end players after each round. Coach (black) ball master. Play into either team.

Aim: Any team starts with ball. Work the ball to play into their end player (team depending). Whoever the passer is now becomes and end player also. Aim is who can be first team to have all 6 players at the end.

Coaching Points:

- Movement to receive the ball

- Quality of first touch

- Quality of pass both to combine with team mates and into end player

- Decision making

- Speed of thought

- Speed of play

- Creating opportunities to play into end player

- End player movement up and down end zone

- Informative communication

Progressions:

- Has to be a specific type of pass into end player; lofted, weak foot, first time, outside of foot etc.

- Touch limit in the area; 3 touch, 2 touch.

- Reduce area size.

- Employ screening defender in front of end line.

- Have to make certain number of passes before attempt into end player

- Time Limit to play into end player
