Block Passing practice

Passing practice:

Oraganisation:

1 passes to 2 and follows pass.

2 passes to 3 and follows pass.

3 passes to 1a and strides through gate as shown.

This is repeated in opposite end.

Objective:

Every pass is between 12-15 yards.

Getting the pass played repetitavely so it becomes second nature.

Structure:

10 players in practice.

1.Will play 2 touch all over for 90 seconds clockwise.

2.Then 1 touch for numbers 2, 2a, 3 and 3a. End players still on 2 touch.

Repeat 1 and 2 in anticlockwise direction.

Coaching Points:

Weight of pass.

First touch.

Which part of foot does player use.

Change of pace to stride through poles.

There is no decision to be made as this is a block practice.

5v5 with no gks.

Organisation:

possession within middle area. once players get into attacking zone they can score in small goal.

Objectives:

Players make decisions.

Coaching Points:

When to pass when to dribble.

When to make runs and when to stand still.

If in end zone, do I finish first time or do I pass. (depending on defenders).

These decisions and adding goals, makes this part of the session
