Objective:
- Controlling the ball, using the bounce, ball mastery/reaction timing/anticipation
Instructions:
Hold the ball with both hands and it let drop to the ground.
1.) After one bounce, tap the ball back up and catch (bounce-foot-catch)
2.) Rather than catch the ball, let it bounce, tap it again, then catch (bounce-foot-bounce-foot-catch)
3.) Increase the number of bounces and taps before catching the ball to 3, then 4 etc.
4.) Add an extra tap before catching the ball - tap the ball twice before it bounces (bounce-foot-foot-catch), then 3 times etc.
Coaching Points:
- focus on touches on the ball
- focus on control of the ball throughout (no drop kicking/swinging at the ball)
- anticipate the ball movement

Set up:
Players line up in single file, all players with ball
Instructions:
Players line up in single file line in front of the coach with a ball at their feet
Coach names each sideline as different football team/country/city
On the coach's call, players will perform toe taps, inside bells on the spot
Coach will add actions that the players have to perform on the shout
Eg.
Down - Touch the floor with one hand
Right - Put your right hand up
Left - Put your left hand up
Spin - 180 turn
On the call of the teams/country/city the players will sprint to that line and back - dribbling the ball
Make it competitive after 2/3 rounds - ie. last person back is out
After 4/5 rounds, calls are opposite, so if Coach says Scotland, players must run to Itlay and vice versa

- reinforce spacing/positioning - not crowding the ball
- practice accuracy - scoring a goal by knocking the ball off the cone with the game ball
- let the ball do the work - don't chase the ball around the field
- LOOK FORWARD FIRST! - can we move the ball in a positive direction first, only look for a negative pass when you have no other options

Warm-Up (10 mins)
Set Up:
- 4 different colour cones (4/5 of each colour)
- each player with a ball
- small space (10yds x 15yds)
Objective:
- use of space and cognitive awareness
Instructions:
- all players start on a coloured cone
- coach calls an order each player must follow - the player starts based on whatever cone they are standing next to
- each player will start by following the pattern the coach calls out - ie. red, yellow, blue, white and then starts again from the beginning until the next pattern is called out
- when the player arrives at a cone they tap the top and move onto the next cone
*Progression - make the pattern more complicated - ie. duble colours or extend the pattern (blue, yellow, white, blue, red)
- add the ball - every player is now dribbling in the space with the ball following the pattern
- add actions for specific colour cones if time permits depending on progression progress

- increase speed of thought processing - movement between cones is with game speed and recall of pattern must increase
