Introduction (10 mins)

Organization:

Knee tag game ( Mental preparation for the session )

Instructions:

Game played with partner, each player will try to tag the knee of his partner, the winner in 45 second win the round.

Everytime player tag partner knee got a point.

Rules:

1- Players cant turn and run.

2- Stay on your feet

Coaching Points/Questions:

1- Body shape low ( knee bent )

2- Body position side on ( give other player one knee only to reach )

Main Activity (25 mins)

Organization:

2 fields of 20*15

3 teams of 2

Points system:

Defender wins in defensive half get zero point

Defenders win the ball in attacking half get 2 points

Defenders win the ball and dribble behind the end line get 3 points.

Rounds will do then teams will rotate clockwise.

Instructions:

Game starts with passer team find the attackers, as ball travelling game is live.

Attacker target is to score in the pug goals

Defenders target is to disallow attackers from scoring.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Pressure

1- How do you stop the attacker from playing forward? Put pressure on him

2- When is the best time to pressure? as ball travelling

3- How many option attacker has when I stand square? 3 options? How can you make it harder for him? Get my body side on. Should I stand tall doing that? No get low with bent knee. Why? Quicker to react.

Cover

1- Angel of support ( stop penetration pass )

2- Distance of support ( able to react immediately if 1sr defender got beaten.

3- Open body shape

4- Communication with 1st defender

Progressions:

2 vs 2 with 1 ball.

Conditioned Game (30 mins)

Big goal

3 target players

Instructions:

Attacking team try to score on the big goal

Defending team try to stop attackers from scoring goals.

Point system:

If Defender win the ball and find one of the target players get 2 points.

If attackers score get 1 point.

Defenders cant be on the 3 thirds at the same time ( should be 2 thirds at all time )

Coaching Points/Questions:

Balance

1- Body position to see field and far attackers

2- Quick transition of rules as ball travelling

3- reading the play of the attackers

Compactness

Remain short distance between defenders

Communication

Delay

1- distance of pressure

2- Force the passing option
