Coaching Points
Adjust the poles based upon your age group. Closer for youngers and farther for olders. Its important that you emphasize shooting in the corners. The speed of the player on approach is added to the force of the strike. Players tend to slow down when shooting with weak foot. Make sure there is enough space in front of the ball before striking the ball another common mistake when shooting with weak foot.
During combination play the weight of the pass and play into space is important and gives the player time to pick a corner and set their feet during approach. Make sure that C does not leave to early and is an offside postion.
Empasize when C is passing back to the 6 explain that the GK has to protect his post and doing so leaves the back side of the goal open.
This will teach players not to shoot from poor or impossible angles.
Repeat the phrases back to the 6 and place it not lace it. A and C are redirecting the power from C. If the near post player is in a bad position teach B on the back post to say "leave it". A and C should not be stationary when striking the ball. A and B shoud time their runs based upon the pass.
Reverse the sequence and have C start with right footed shot. A will have to play back to the 6 with a left foot.
