Set up
-1 player on the ball
-defensive team sets up a wall (numbers depending on the distance from the net and the angle of the free kick)
-3 players set up on the opposite side of the free kick
-player sets up on either side of the wall
- Player on the ball either shoots on net if within range, plays far post, or a chip over the wall
-3 players make runs to near, middle and far post
- Rotate players through positions
-move placement of the free kick and set up a wall (more players in the wall the closer and more center the free kick)
Progressions
-add in defenders
-change position of the free kick - distance, angle etc.

-encourage players to make dynamic runs to "lose" defenders
-timing of run
-when to shoot

-server plays balls in from thecorner
-defenders work on clearing theball away or playing up to their high player

Defending Free kicks
Set up
- number of players in the wall - depends on the position of the kick
-position the wall so the attacker cannot shoot directly at goal
-remainder of players position themselves to cover any attacking players on the goal side
-goal keeper must position them self to be able to see the ball and be on the side not covered by the wall
-Set up a different free kicks around the 18 yard box
-have team as quickly as possible set up to defend the kick
-number of players in the wall and other defending players
-keeper needs to communicate what they would like to the team
-can practice defending and clearing away balls not directly on net as well as the following up for rebounds
-Focus is on set up, the wall and keeper positioning
-rotate players through positions

-No attackers to start
-include attackers but only some are trying to score

Set up
2 players taking turns serving the ball
3 players set up outside the 18 yard box (the mix)
1 player set up higher outside the 18 yard box
1 player holding - last player back
1 player set up in front of the keeper
-3 players decide who is making near, middle and far post runs
-ball is served into the box just outside of the 18 yard box
-player on the keeper looks to win the ball if it is sent too deep or to pick off any rebounds etc.
-player outside the 18 looks to pick up any loose balls, or poor clearances - can serve the ball back into the far post or can take a shot on net
-3 players attacking look to score on a one time shot, volley, or header
-play 5 - 8 balls on one side, then switch
-keeper is working on tracking ball across the net and shot stopping
Progressions
-encourage players to lose defenders by: stop/start runs, dynamic movements, weight transfers
-bring in 1 or 2 defenders
-rotate players through different positions
