Session Objective:
In week 13, we are looking at the second of the 4 attacking plays we are hoping to use. Cutbacks are one of the easiest ways of scoring, provided the players can time their runs, attack with speed, pass with quality and shoot on target.

Set Up: coaches move starting positions, and provide the through ball.
Instructions: coaches now play a through ball to setup the "cutback". One players drives to the bye line, and performs a cutback, while the other player must time their run into the box, and finish the shot.

Set Up: A Defender is added to make the pass and pressure the ball. the coaches are free to roam and help players.
Instructions: A Defending player now, makes the initial pass, and then runs to put pressure on the player who is performing the cutback.
Variation/Progression: A second defender may pressure the finishing player if needed. Adjust the starting positions of any players as needed.

Set Up: Half field, with 2 teams playing an objective game in the red area, trying to unlock the yellow area.
Instructions: Teams try to score in the mini goals, and when they do they immediately unlock another ball (of their choice,) and unlock the yellow "cutback" zone.
if they can perform a cutback and score in the full size goals, the receive one point for their team.
Variation/Progression: the game can be made easier by only requiring the teams to "hit" on of the mini goals
the game can be made harder by only having one mini goal

Set Up: mannequins as defenders, coaches feed in balls
Instructions: coaches feed in quality passes and players run in and finish. The player can go our and around a mannequin and re-enter the 18yd box a second time to receive a second pass from the coach on the other side.
The next runner leaves when the player in front enters the 18yd box the FIRST time.
Variation/Progression: one shot or 3 shots could be taken, or players could start their runs from different locations.
