Functional Practise - Speed w/Dribbling
Description: Players are focusing on big touch dribbling. The grid is made up of 4 corner squares w/ dimensions of 4x4. Players dribble to the next grid and stop the ball dead inside it allowing the next player to collect it and dribble to the next cone. The exercise has a few progressions.
Coaching Points:
1) Surface Contact - Be able to touch the ball on every part of your foot
2) Adaptation - Show players how to consistently protect the ball by keeping it close
3) Vision - Asses players on how many times they can sneak a glance of their space
4) Changing direction - Players should look to consistently change direction to create space

Functional SSG - 1V1 Big touches into space to score
Description: A 1v1 game with a vertical game being played in the yellow gates and a horizontal game being played in the red gates. The move starts vertically with the player A passing the ball opposite to him and pressing, the player in possession then tries to dribble through one of two gates he can score in. Once that move is over the player who passed the ball goes to the back of the attackers line and vise versa. Once the pitch is cleared the grid is now horizontal with player B playng it accross to his opponent and they play in the red gates.
Coaching Points:
1) Surface Contact - Be able to touch the ball on every part of your foot
2) Adaptation - Show players how to consistently protect the ball by keeping it close
3) Vision - Asses players on how many times they can sneak a glance of their space
4) Changing direction - Players should look to consistently change direction to create space
** NB: Speed is always first, then 1v1

SSG - Dribbling gates
Description: Players play 3v3 and 4v4 in the grid. Each team has 3 gates and to score they must dribble through at least one gate before they finish. Each round teams are gived 2 or 3 footballs depending on the time in the grid.

Description: Players are in a structured set up with 3 yards between each cone going horizontally and 1 yard between cones vertically. Ball mastery movements are done in the lyaers 3 yard zone.
Progression 1 : A s seen on diagram, there is a spare line of cones ahead of the first line. When the coach say sgo, the lines dribble to the line in front of them and then stay in position.
