Organization
- 30 x 20 area
- Two 5 yard zones at each end of the box
- One team in each of the end zones
- Two teams in the central area
Procedure
- One of the teams in the middle starts with the ball and attacks the other team in the middle.
- The team with the ball attempts to pass teh ball to the team in the end zone that they are attacking.
- If they are able to pass the ball in to the team in the box they are attacking the team receiving the ball steps out and attacks the team that passed the ball in.
- The team who conceded steps back in to the empty box.
- If the defending team wins the ball they then attack the opposite end and attempt to get the pass in to the endzone.
Progression
- Make it a competition with the first team to 10 passes in to the end zone winning
- The team in possession has 5 passes only to get the ball in to the endzone
Coaching Emphasis
- Having a plan when receiving the ball
- Looking to play forwards quickly
- Good decisions on when to pass and when to dribble
- Creating width and depth when in possession

- Two small nets
Setup
- Blues = Centre Mid + Two wide Mid +Striker
- Reds = Centre Mid + Two Defenders
- Red Defender attempts to play pass to red centre mid but it is cut out by the Blue Centre Mid
- The two blue wide players then split to create options for the player on the ball and the striker looks to play in the gaps
- The red defender attempts to recover to make the game 4v3
- The Blues attempt to score on the big goal and the reds attempt to score on the small goals should they win it.
Progression
Start the Red Centre Mid in front of the blue centre Mid and have a recovery defender in wide areas.
Coaching Emphasis
- Positive first touch from the centre Mid
- Wide players making the field big when the ball is turned over
- The striker looking to find gaps between defenders and play on the half turn
- Decision making of the player on the ball

Transition Game 1 (20 mins)
Organization
- Field size is half of a 7v7 field going width ways
- At each side, have a box of 5x5 in size
- Place two goals back to back in the centre of the field.
- A GK in each goal
- 5 Players begin on each side of the field with one player in the box on each side.
Actvity
- The coach plays a ball in to either side of the area. The receiving team must get the ball to their box player before then attacking the goal in their half.
- The opposite team sends across 3 players to defend agaisnt the attacking 5.
- The defenders aim is to win the ball and get it back in to their half and to their player in the box. Once they have done so all the defenders would return to attack the goal in their half and the other team would then send 3 players in to defend.
- Should the ball go out the coach will then feed either the same team with another ball or play in to the opposite group for the game to transition.
Progression
- Add another defender in on the transition.
Coaching points
- Look to move the ball quickly to get in to your box player
- Quick transition to get in to your half to support
- Make the area big by using the widtha nd depth of the box.
