Warm up/Rondo (15 mins)

Rondo warmup after light jogging, player in the middle receiving and playing out. increase stretches, then increase the intensity of the rondo.

Players keep between the red lines and pitch markings. This allows 5 metres of movement to receive and play the pass.

Organisation. This is a Man Utd exercise. 4 v 4 + 4. The Defenders use the +4 for retaining possession. The attacking players use the +4 to help create the chances. This exercise should encourage lots of movement to create space and encourage the positives of 'overload'.

Though the picture makes the box look crowded, the space will be good.

If you want to utilise progressions or feel you need to tweak the session due to say , lack of wide overloads; utilise the additional pitch markings and award extra points if the ball and player arrives in any said area of concern. this will then dare I say, force players into said areas and therefore achieve what you had set out within all the technical information on the slide previously.

Players on outside, neutral. Not allowed to cross over the red lines, same as opposing players. Teams are awarded a goal when the ball is played to a player on the outside and they play it back into the shaded areas where a player then receives it. Encourage the principles of play and reward good possession with an end product.
