Practice Objectives:
Manage space effectively and limit passing optionsfor the player in possession
Small-team possession focussing on intensity to win the ball back, and the ability toplay through a high press
Practice Explanation:
6v4 in each of two grids,with only one grid working at one time.
BLUE team is split into two sets of four with one set of fourresponsible for pressing the ball.If the ball is not in their designated grid, the fourdefenders recover to the neutral zone in between grids
RED team keeping possession to play forward to opposite grid. If thedefending team wins the ball, they aim to score into thedesignated goal in their grid within a set period of time.
Defensive team rotates after a set period of time
Defending team score in goals = 1 point
Make 5 passes and connect to opposite grid = 1 points

Two teams looks to play transfer balls from one side of the pitch and score into one of the mini goals.
Team must make 3 passes before they can score.
Practice Objectives:
Can we organise defensive structure effectively to win back possession of the ball. Know your roles.
Coaching Points:
*Organise defensive structure.
*Force wide.
*Wide player - Stop forward pass and be close enough to press onto wide players touch. Don't get beat.
*Force play centrally and anticipate play into the central zone.
*Leave wide players - farthest wide player covers the switch but close enough to fellow midfielders to transition.
*Press as a unit - communicate to each other.

4v2 TRANSITIONAL RONDO
This is a transitional rondo that consists of a 4v2 in twomarked grids with a ‘neutral zone’ in between
BLUE team works inpairs to press the ball in 4v2 scenarios. One pair isdesignated to each of the two grids
RED team of 4 in possession must complete5 passes before playing to their fourteammates in the opposite grid
Defensive team rotates after a set period of time
Regain possession = 1 point
Regain possession and make a pass to teammates in neutral zone = 2 points
