Tackling: Forehand block + shave/steal and cutting defender off.

Starts off passive for begginners/young players.

Player 1 carries passively into tackle box and allows player 2 to make forehand block tackle.

Focus for defender in tackle box:

Correct channeling technique onto forehand.

Strong, flat stick when making forehand block tackle.

Player 2 must then carry passively towards red gates.

Player 1 tracks from behind and makes reverse stick shave/steal.

Focus for player 1:

Minimal stick contact when attempting steal- timing.

Use body to keep ball once stolen.

Once forehand block is made, player 2 can protect the ball from defender behind by cutting defender off.

Progression:

Once both block tackle and reverse stick shave/steal are mastered passively, players can become active- blue player starting with ball can attempt to dribble through tackle box and get to the otherside.

Defender in is out tackle box once tackle is made and ball is controlled through red gate- attacker that got turned over goes into box.

Or a few rounds each.

Drill is repeated from both sides
