Stage 2 - 1 v 1 Defending
1v1 Defending (15 min)
Reps: 8, Intensity: Med (5:1)
Players will play 1v1 to a line and a small goal. Defending teams starts with balls & plays to attacking team to start play. Attacking team may score 2 points by passing ball into goal and 1 point by dribbling across the endline. Rotate teams ea 3 min.
CP: Proper mechanics of stance, footwork, approach, lower center of gravity, close down quickly, get low, eyes on the ball

Defensive Shifting (15 min)
Coach randomly calls out an attacking line to dribble towrds goal and penetrate the 2,4,& 3.
Cp's- Move as a unit, Pressure/cover balance, don't cross lines to the ball, communicate pressure/cover
Progression: Coach calls out one line to start the attack & the two other line support the attack forcing the 2,4,& 3 to keep balance

Expanded Sm Sided Game (15 min)
8 v 9. Blue attacking team must connect 5 passes before shooting. Orange team can score on sm counter goals.
Coaching Points: Angle pressure approach toward cover player. Defend patiently as a group. Take pressure angles to be in a shot blocking position. Be brave.
