Method:

Warm up drill designed to activate hands and feet.

Step 1.

GK comes forward to central cone line.

Faces face catch from Server.

Coaching Points:

Body weight slightly forward, knees bent to absorb the shot.

Method:

Warm up drill designed to activate hands and feet.

Step 2.

GK steps back after Step 1 and moves with fast feet through the three cones to their right.  Immediate low shot from server for catch to their right.


Coaching Points:

Get low quickly without "flopping".  Hands behind and on top of ball when gathering or if pushing away, use a strong lower land..

Catch or push away the ball with arms forwards.

Am I retaining good technique when saving to the right as for my left?

After Step 2, move with fast feet through the three cones to central. Come forward to front cone line and receive a high catch from server, coming forward.

Step 4.

After step 3, move to central and repeat with fast feet through the three cones to their left. Immediate low shot from server for catch on their left side.



Coaching Points:

With knees slightly bent and hands low, get low quickly without "flopping". Hands behind and on top of ball when gathering or if pushing away, strong lower land. 

Catch or push away the ball with arms forward .

Am I retaining good technique when saving to the left as for my right?

Method:

Warm up drill designed to activate hands and feet.

Step 5.

After Step 4, move with fast feet through the three cones to central. Come forward to front cone line and receive low shot to be saved with a frontal scoop technique.

Coaching Points:

Short block behind for added protection. 

Let balls be scooped into arms before wrapping around the ball for added safety.

Collapse forward if required and retain ball with hands and under yout chin.
