gks form a square and there are 2 balls in play. gks are working in pairs in a diagonal line. one group will serve volleys the other will serve bouncing basket catches. when coach calls switch they change services and maintain postions. 1st progression: 1 group is passing one touch the other is playing high balls to be caught. they switch on coaches command. 2nd progresion: one group is playing balls to be attacked on one bounce the other is striking balls off the ground to be caught in the hands or body without diving. coaching points: proper set will allow for correct technique when transitioning on coaches call. footwork behind ball when needed. no time to stop concentrating.

GK receives volleys from server 1 and 2 adjusting his angle to be behind the ball for both. when coach raises his hand the gk cross-steps al the way across to make power diving save. if the gk holds the ball he gets up and immeditely distributed with hands based on where the attacker shapes his run towards. if the gk deflects he goes back to servers 1 and 2. repeat until fatigue or until 3 succesful distributions are completed. then rotate. after all gks have gone switch sides as to have dives on both sides. gk coach should make service difficult but reasonably enough so gk is forced to make a decision on catching or deflecting. rebounds are live. coaching points: eyes forward at all times. attack the ball with both hands every time. using a sling throw and throwing to feet when distributing.

gk coach is serving balls in between both posts at gk. server 1 will throw ball across gks body into goal as wil server 2 in opposite goal. server 1 and 2 decide who is serving when(player-directed). balls inside the two red lines are served with pace(reactionary), outisde the lines have less pace( require more thinking, cant dive too early). gk works until 5 saves are made from server1 and 2 total. coaching points: after each save from coach have to check to see if servers are throwing ball, concentration is key. take a positive approach to cut down angles. stay on your feet until ball is in a reasonable distance to be saved.

reaction handling and footwork
all gks have a ball and are in a tight circle approx 3 yds apart. they are pasing with hands and moving to the right until the gk coach yells" switch" and they go oposite direction with balls and movement. 3 30 second intervals. 1st progression: set up is the same but gks are in a breakaway type set( knees bent, palms open) and are rolling the balls to their teammates and working on shifting their weight and reacting without stopping when they have to change direction. 3 sets of 20 second intervals. coaching points: concentration is key, feet move at all times and must turn quickly to catch next ball.
