Reaction Gate Drill (15 mins)
Activity Name: Ball Mastery/ Reaction drillActivity Description: Two teams in opposite corners/sides of the goals, 1 ball per player. 3 different colored gates in the middle of the court. Depending on numbers have 2 keepers. If there are no keepers, or if you have low numbers, dribblers should be keepers and switch after each go.
Label the gates in the middle of the court. Can start out with the color of the gate or by labelling them a,b,c. Coaching points: Positive first touch into the space towards the gate. Push out with the sole. quick soft taps as we approach the gate, do we take the ball closer or shoot early? utilize Puntanzo- toe poke to shoot quick and early without having to adjust our bodies.
