Striking a ball

5v2 possession game, field size approx 25 yards x 45 yards
3 teams of 5 set up as in diagram. the defending team (white) start by the side of the middle 3rd.
When ball is played into a 3rd, 2 defenders go to defend.
Blue team attempt to make 5 passes then cross the ball to the red team.
If successful, the 2 defenders come out and 2 new whites defend the opposite end.
If defenders win the ball, reset with a new ball. When defenders win the ball 5 times, switch with another team.
P.1 Defenders win the ball, switch with the team that lost possession
p.2 the defenders that are not defending stand in the middle 3rd to try and intercept the switch of play
Coach:
Focus on the technique of the long ball
Correct body position to strike the ball, good first touch to set you up and strike with correct part of the foot.
Variations can be different striking techniques
Lofted pass, driven pass, curling pass with inside of the foot

Shoot on sight in a 5v5 small sided game
Using a field the size of 2 penalty areas (44Wx36L)
Encourage players to shoot from all poistions / angles, short and long. Use spare balls to keep the game moving.
3 teams of 5, 2 minute games or first to XX goals.

Passing drills, incorporating different techniques for striking the ball. Above is one passing pattern to use the following techniques.
1 starts and passes to 2, using inside of the foot.
Player 2 sets back to player 1
Player 1 strikes a lofted pass to 3.
3 controls and strikes a low drive to 4
1 moves to 2, 2 goes to 3, 3 goes to 4 and 4 back to 1
4 plays 1, who starts again.
