The triangle passing game is like the passing through gates exercise, but with more competition for less gates! It focuses on dribbling, passing and teamwork.
Equipment and Setup
Rules
Each evenly matched pair tried to pass through as many gates as they can in 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, give them a quick break and see if they can beat their own score.
Make more difficult
To make the game more competitive, have the pairs compete to see who can get the most gates in 2 minutes, or set a goal for the first team to go through 10-15 gates.
For the older, more skilled players, you can also allow players to poke tackle the ball away from a pair if they're near.
Coaching Points
In the context of the game
Players should use teamwork - because the gates are a triangle, they can choose the best passing lane to gain the optimum outcome of accuracy and speed
