This session is a small sample size of the constant and lengthy process of teaching Tactical Crosses. This session will show the details of how are TRANSITION should be from a SHOOTING ANGLE vs. CROSSING ANGLES, MOVEMENT FROM SHOOTING ANGLE TO AN EARLY CROSS, THE TRANSITION AND MOVEMENT FROM EACH ZONE AND AREAS, and The distinct movements to prepare for a Cutback cross and the transition needed to get to each points of engagement.

1. GK Starts on Blue cone.
2. Tranisiton to the near post cone and set.
3. Yell 'Away' and transtion to the slot Position
4. Start from the right side and left side
PROGRESSION 2
1. Same as before on Near post
2. Now say 'Away' and transition in a semi circle to the far post
3. Work to the left and the right side.

1. S throws/kicks a high ball to cone
2. GK runs out to Red cone and saves high ball
3. GK then Throws it to opposite outlet
4. Crosses over back to start
5. Continue to all 4 S and switch GKs

Crossing Situations- Option 1 ~ Shot
SET UP: Set up serving players in a possible shooting angle situation and create a pass that will become crossing situations.
1. S1 plays a ball to S2.
2. S1 moves to overlap S2
3. S2 plays turns with the ball
4. S2 takes ball and shoots at GK
GK Positioning GK should take up an angle for a shot since S1 & S2 are in possible shooting angles, then transition into a crossing angle based on the ball going wide and no longer a shooting threat.
1. GK sets for a shot by taking up a shooting angle

Crossing Situations- Option 2 ~ Early Cross
SET UP: Set up serving players in a possible shooting angle situation and create a pass that will become crossing situations.
1. S1 plays a ball to S2.
2. S1 moves to overlap S2
3. S2 plays a wide ball to S2
4. S2 takes a few dribbles and servers an early cross to Runners 1,2,& 3
GK Positioning GK should take up an angle for a shot since S1 & S2 are in possible shooting angles, then transition into a crossing angle based on the ball going wide and no longer a shooting threat.
1. GK sets for shooting angle
2. GK drops off and opens up their stance to be prepared for a cross. (Depending on the with of the ball will determine how close they are to the front post and their goal line.

Crossing Situations- Option 3 ~ Cutback Cross

1. S1 plays a ball to S2.
2. S1 moves to overlap S2
3. S2 plays a wide ball to S2
4. S2 takes ball toward bi-line for a cutback cross to Runners 1,2,& 3
GK Positioning GK should take up an angle for a shot since S1 & S2 are in possible shooting angles, then transition into a crossing angle based on the ball going wide and no longer a shooting threat.
1. GK sets for a shot by taking up a shooting angle
2. GK drops off and opens up their stance to be prepared for a cross. (Depending on the with of the ball will determine how close they are to the front post and their goal line.
3. GK moves to near post and squares their body to prepare for the Cutback cross

Crossing Situations- Option 3 ~ Cutback Cross
SET UP: Set up serving players in a possible shooting angle situation and create a pass that will become crossing situations.
1. S1 plays a ball to S2.
2. S1 moves to overlap S2
3a. S2 can turn and shoot
3b. S2 can play ball wide to S1 for an Early cross to Runners 1,2,34
3c. S2 can play ball wide to S1 who then dribbles down the line for an In-game/flat cross
3d. S2 takes ball toward bi-line for a cutback cross to Runners 1,2,& 3

Crossing Warm up - Footwork/jump
1. Foot work over the cones
2. Call Keeper and run, jump to the near post cone
3. Again but sideways footwork to the slot cone
4. Sideways footwork to the far post cone
5. Always call Keeper and jump as if a ball is coming.
