Small Sided Game - 8v8
Organisation
If possession is turned over when the fullback is in an attacking zone, the closest central midfield player will drop into the back line to cover, making a 3v2 in defensive zone to nulify the attack. (in the image the ball has been lost in the midfield area and played straight into the blue strikers to make a 2v2. We will ask the central defender to come across and apply pressure, forcing play outside, and the central midfielder will drop into the centre-back position)

Detail Practice - 3v3
Organisation
3v3 Practice.
Blue Team - Number 10 (Attacking Midfield), Number 9 (Striker) and Number 11 (Winger)
Red Team - Number 5 (Centre Back), Number 6 (Holding Midfield) and Number 2 (Full Back)
Ball starts with the Blue 10 who plays the ball into the Blue 11. From there we are live 3v3 to goal. The Red 2 is caught high up the pitch and must recover as to not leave their team 3v2 down in the defensive phase.

Detail Practice - 3v3
Situational Detail
In the image you can see the Red 5 comes across to apply pressure and the Red 6 recovers into a central defending position to cover the 5 and mark the Blue 9. This leaves the Blue 10 as the player unmarked but also the player furthest away from goal.
In this situation because of the organisation of the Red 5 and 6, the Red 2 has a less aerobically demanding recovery run and can recover centrally to mark the Blue 10 until the phase is complete.

Half Pitch Practice - 8v6
Organisation
Condition of this final practice is now when the blues are in possession, whichever side of the white line the ball is on, the red fullback on that side must get locked away in the grey zone. The reds must then organise as if the fullback has been caught high up the pitch. If the ball switches across the white line, the fullback who was locked out can tuck back in and the opposite fullback gets locked away.
(in the image the Red 2 is locked away as ball is on that side of the line. The blues have worked it to their winger. The Red centre backs come across and deny space. The Red 4 pressures the ball and becomes the '2' for now, The Red 5 tucks in and the Red 6 recovers into a centre back position to cover and ensure we always have a solid back line.
