Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): S.O.S shooting in the box time trial

S.O.S shooting in the box time trial

Area:

use 11v11 goal and penalty area.

Equipment:

Balls and bibs

Objective:

Split players into 3 teams. One team on outside with a supply of balls. The other 2 teams in the penalty area. The pitch area is inside  the penalty area only. The blues are attacking and the blacks defending. The blues have a set time (2mins) to score as many goals as they can. The emphasis is shoot on sight. THe blues get a ball from the reds on the outside and shoot. if a goals is scored or the ball goes out the area then that ball is dead and the blues must get another ball from the outside as quickly as possible. after the time the coloured teams swap untill all teams have had a spell shooting. The winning team is the team who scored the most goals in their alotted time.

Key points:

Emphasise S.O.S (shoot on sight). be alert and communicate so multiple players are not getting balls from outside at the same time.  create space for teamates with unselfish runs/movement. Be proactive. When a payer is about to shoot then another player can already be mocing to get a ball from a outside player.
