General Principles:
1. Unbalance the Opponents
2. Exploit area's where the opponent is unbalanced
Team Principles:
1. Spread out & triangulate to create passing options.
2. Create numbers up between & behind the lines.
3. Vary the types of runs
4. Play forward when possible or keep the ball.
5. Create 1 v 1s and 2 v1 situations
Team Tasks:
1. Keep possession while looking to unbalance the opponent.
2. Create good angles of support ahead of the ball, tho the side and behind the ball to combine.
3. Make runs off the ball from inside to out, outside to in
4. Provide defensive balance while in the attack.

INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 3 mins REST: 1 min INTERVALS: 6
DESCRIPTION:
* 5 v 4
* Have 2 yellow teams of 5 players that rotate every 3 mins.
* Yellow (target team): #'s 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 attack the big goal
* Black (opposition team) #'s 1, 2, 3 & 4 attack the 2 counter goals.
* The coach starts play by serving the ball into the blue team.
Scoring:
* 20 points for any goal scored or assisted by #7 or 11. All other goals, 1 point.
Player Tasks
* #9 starts central and high close to the CB and looks to combine with #10 and #7 / #11
* #7 / #11 to provide look to push up high and wide, and combine with #9 and the central midfielders #8 & #10.
COACHING POINTS:
1. Can players #7, #8, #9, #10 & #11 have good decisions under pressure?
* Receiving from the cross - Across the Body (furthest foot from the ball), aerial control with different parts of body.
* Killer instinct and composure to finish.
2. Attacking Principles of #7 and #11 (What? when? where ? why?:
* Can #7 and #11 look to penetrate with and without the ball?
* Are #7 and #11 able to combine with #8. #9 and #10 to create goal scoring opportunities?
* Can Players #7 and #11 provide width on the field?
3. All players to recognise when to dribble, pass or shoot.

DESCRIPTION
* 8 v 7 plus GK
* Target team (Yellow): #'s 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11
* Opposition team (black): #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, & 9
* Add incentives as needed for build up to goals which go through the Yellow #7 or 11.
* Laws of the game apply.
Player Tasks

DESCRIPTION
* 8 v 8
* Both teams play 1-2-2-3 (#1, #4, #5, #6, #10, #7, #9, #11)
* Fifa Laws apply plus offside.
Player Tasks
* #9 starts central and high close to the CB and looks to combine with #10 and #7 / #11
* #7 / #11 to provide look to push up high and wide, and combine with #9 and the central midfielders #8 & #10.
* #4 & #5 give balance to the team in and out of possession.

Stage 1: Pattern play (15 mins)
INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 3 mins REST: 45-60 secs INTERVALS: 4-5
DESCRIPTION:
* Pattern of Play to target (GK)
* Both sides of the field work independently: #'s 9, 10, 11 play through each other on one side and #'s 7, 9, 10 on the other.
* #'s 7 or 11 start the play & play finishes after the ball is played into the GK's (#1) hands.
* Both sides play pattern 1 then both play pattern 2 (see diagram for patterns)
Progressions:
1. Rotate #9 and #10
2. Ask players to add additional patterns.

1. Angel & weight of pass
2. Running with the ball - acceleration to attack space, distance of dribble touch to prep for cross.
3. Crosses - Surface of the foot to use and surface of the ball to strike.

* Eyes looking up for space then down when contacting the ball.
4. Speed of play - when to play one touch.
