Switch Play
Technical
Players learn the way they can switch a ball, the players must take into concideration that when recieving the ball; they must recieve it on their back foot. Once this has been accomplished they must then scan the area for a possible switch.
Focus:
Different lines when receiving - partner working off your movement - weight of pass - take a look before you receive - intensity of play
Organisation
Challenge for Red:
Reds will be pressing trying to win the ball back high (no yellow cones applies). As soon as the ball transferring to blue centre back, can red winger goes to press the centre back and same time trying cut passing line of blue CB to FB.
If reds get ball, they have 5 sec to score to blue's goal.Patterns:
GK - RCB - RB - RCM - LCM - LB - LW - Target player
GK - LCB - LB - LCM - RCM - RB - RW - Target player
Coaching points:
Could the full back play a 1-2 with the number 8 or the number 10, and make a run down the line?

Challenge for Red:
Reds will be pressing little deep, from yellow cones (yellow cones been put outside of touchlines as reference). As soon as the blue centre back receives the ball, red no 9 goes to press the centre back and same time trying cut passing line to other CB.
Reds when in possession, they have 12 seconds to scoreFirst Scenario:
First pass goes into CB and after his first touch opposition striker will press with their no 10 looking to occupy opposite centre half.
On first touch of CB, the DM closer to ball will go high to drag marker and create space for CB to drive or pass other DM (furthesr) who same time as first touch of CB he will drop into space around the D on 18yd box as CBs will be playing width of 18yd box.
When DM recieves ball, is trigger for the same side as the ball has come from to make forward run in space between there CB and FB which will allow my wide players to roll in and receive pass to turn and drive if not picked up by opposition. If marked DM can drive with ball to commit. As this is happening opposite CB and FB will narrow off incase of turnover. Opposite wide players to retain width and opposite 10 to support play and make forward runs.
Details:
Start with GK when he sees the the centre backs are right options to pass to build up play he passes to RCB. RCB to receive the ball, drops a bit and open body to have a good view of what is in front, on his back foot he receives and his touch should be forward. On RCB touch, RB go high to take opposition with him and then drop to receive the ball from RCB. RB should receive the ball in line with the touch line and body position in way that see the 3 corners. RB needs to decides whether to receive the ball have a touch or not and see if he can, play it forward. RB passes to RCM. If RB sees that by having a touch the opposition would take the ball from him he shouldn't take touch and has to pass the ball on first touch to RCM.
When ball is travelling from RCB to RB, RCM should goes high a bit to give angle to RB for a forward pass. So when RB receives the ball from RCB and he sees that can't play forward he passes to RCM. RCM to receive the ball, goes high a bit and open body to have a good view of what is in front, on his back foot he receives and his touch should be forward. On RCM touch LCM steps up to be in line with RCM and giving option to play if needed. RCM receives the ball from RB and he should be able to quickly pass the ball to RW. On RCM touch, NO 10 should drop a bit to give angle to RCM. So when RCM receives the ball from RB and he sees that can't play directly to 10, he passes to RW.
While ball is travelling to RW, NO 9 drops towards ball and give option to RW if want to give short pass. No 10 starts running straight towards the goal and also LW runs into the box. Both (10 and LW) run into the box to give option to RW also for cross.
CMs also join attackers and look for 2nd ball. However, they must ensure that we have cover and balance at the back.

2nd Scenario:
First pass goes into CB and after his first touch opposition striker will press with their no 10 looking to occupy opposite centre half. On first touch of CB, the DM closer to ball will drop to receive the ball from CB to switch the ball, other DM (furthest) same time as first touch of CB he will go high to give option to other DM to pas him for switch. When DM recieves ball, is trigger for the same side as the ball has come from to make forward run in space between their CB and FB which will allow my wide players to roll in and receive pass to turn and drive if not picked up by opposition. If marked DM can drive with ball to commit. As this is happening opposite CB and FB will narrow off incase of turnover. Opposite wide players to retain width and opposite 10 to support play and make forward runs.
Details:
To try and catch the opposition off guard by dragging them over to one side of the pitch, where we can quickly change the play to the other side of the pitch through central area to exploit the space. It needs to be done quickly, it needs to be done sharply. Once we've got the ball into that wide position, we're asking the wide player to pass the ball as early as possible for the two strikers waiting on top.
The pattern starts with GK when he sees the the centre backs are right options to pass to build up play he passes to RCB. RB is pressed so he needs to decides whether to receive the ball have a touch and see if he can't play forward he switch the ball through the middle and pass to RCM. FBs are the key players in switch play as when they see that the pitch is overcrowded in one side they should quickly switch play by using CMs to send the ball to other wide area. If RB sees that by having a touch the opposition would take the ball from him he shouldn't take touch and has to pass the ball on first touch to RCM.
When ball is travelling from RCB to RB, RCM should drop a bit to give angle to RB. So when RB receives the ball from RCB and he sees that can't play forward he passes to RCM. RCM to receive the ball, drops a bit and open body to have a good view of what is in front, on his back foot he receives and his touch should be forward. On RCM touch LCM drops to be in line with RCM and giving option to play. LCM receives the ball from RCM and he should be able to turn quickly and pass the ball to LB. On LCM touch, LB goes high to depth. LB should receive the ball in line with the touch line and body position in way that see the 3 corners. His touch should be forward and he aims to pass to the nearest striker.
While ball is travelling from LCM to LB, LW runs inside and NO 9 spin go a bit high to take the defender with him and as soon as LB has touch NO 9 drops to receive the ball on half turn to be able to turn and decides whether to take the ball forward or pass to other player. LB passes to LW.,No 10 step up a bit toward No 9 and LW to give option to receive pass. LW passes to NO 9.
On NO 9 touch, LW spins around and runs between opposition LB and LCB to make space for NO 9 to run. No 9 then decides whether to drive with ball or have shot or pass to LW.

Orgnaisation:
Coach blue team in back 4, 2 deep lyers and 2 wingers plus a target player (No 9) in 4-2-3-1
Ball always start from blue's GK and try to build up from back. Blue to score they have to play the ball to target player (black) or can score in any small goals. When target player receives a ball or goal scored in either small goals, ball plays from GK again.

I want to see the blues playing out from the back ever time the GK has the ball so as soon as the keeper gets the ball, that the trigger, for the the two CB's to split and take up a position on the corner of the 18 yard box. On first touch of CB, the DM closer to ball will go high to drag
marker and create space for CB to drive or pass other DM (furthesr) who same time as first touch of CB he will drop into space around the D on 18yd box as CBs will be playing width of 18yd box.
