Screen 1 (10 mins)

Warm Up -

Half the group on the outside with footballs in their hands ready to throw the ball in

The other half running around the area, when they approach a player on the outside of the circle, the ball will be thrown in and then headed back into the hands of the thrower

After 3/4 minutes, swap over, performing the same drill

Screen 2 (15 mins)

Handball style game, players can't move with the ball, only hands and heads must be used. players can't cross over into the other side of the pitch

Goals can oly be scored with the head, must be thrown by a teammate

Only the attacker is allowed in the coned area to allow for a free header, it gives time and space for the skill to be performed while still having a competetive edge.

Once the ball is headed in, the opposite team then starts with the ball

Screen 3 (10 mins)

Explain to the group and give demonstraitions of how to throw the ball, use different techniques if people are struggling, ie, dragging the foot across the floor

Get them in partners standing across from each other

They must attempt to perform 5 successful throw-ins to their partner, after 5 then swap over.

Screen 4 (25 mins)

Game of football, if the ball is passed into the shaded areas on the edge, then the player can't be tackled, they are free to pick the ball up and perform a throw-in from where he picked it up, This time 1 attacker and 1 defender only are allowed in the area at any 1 time, this provides an areal dual.

1 point for scoring a "normal goal"
