Warm up (10 mins)

Ball carrying and passing warm up (3 per group)

Yellow player carries ball from yellow cone around yellow cone (10m)

Player 2 makes block tackle, turns over ball and repeats ball-carry

Blue players mirror on red cone side

1 minute

Yellow player carries ball around yellow cone, eyes up, flat pass to yellow P2

Blue players mirror on red cone side

Players move cones back so distance is 20m apart

Yellow player carries ball around yellow cone, eyes up, sweep pass back

SSG 2v2 wo GK (15 mins)

2v2/3v3 

6 Per group

2 leads from the base line towards a pass from 1, who is active after the pass

First touch leads them to pass to A or B, activating BOTH players 

A+B v 1+2 to try and carry the ball over the opposition base line. If 1+2 win ball, they counter until goal is scored of game ends

Focus: communication between attackers and defenders

PROGRESS: use C and 3 as end zone players to try to pass ball to score (they may move along the goal line)

Defensive focus on cutting passing lines to that player and neutralising the overload.

Attacking focus on taking advantage of high player, creating defensive chaos, moving the ball forward

2 leads from the baseline towards a pass from 1, who is active after the pass and drops in to defend

First touch leads them to pass to A or B, activating BOTH players

Attack of A+B v Defense of 1+2+GK

1+2 need to carry ball through side gate

GK needs to score by clearing ball out of D away from any attackers
