Focus - establish positional expectations for multiple positions
Defensive unit
Number responsibilities:
When we are stopping attacks
1 - be in a good positon to take the cross
2- tuck in to defend the back post - be aware of the other winger
3 - left full back goes wide to try and stop the cross coming in - the key is patience. Stop the cross
5- pick up the 9 and stop him scoring
6- pick up the 10 and stop him scoring
When we are supporting attacks the unit squezes high and the full back support the winger with the others making a back 3
Key principals -
Stop the cross.
Patience in defence.
Space does not score.
If the defensive unit get possesion they now play the other way - by playing out to the wingers and the attacking unit attack the other goal.
Attacking unit -
WInger in possesion hits the bye-line
8 - Play into full back and the squeze up behind play for 2nd phase
9 - (if it's right cross attack the front post, if it's left attack the penalty spot
10- (if its a left cross attack the front post, if it's right attack the penalty spot
