Defending Corner Kicks:
CB near the ball is on goal post about an arms length away facing the ball. Her job is not to let any ball get into the goal area near the goal.
Goal keeper is in the middle of the goal a little bit further away from the goal line so that she can see the ball come in past the Center Back on goal post.
Center Forward is up near the middle of the field, to keep 1 or 2 opponents occupied there.
All other available players are tight, shoulder to shoulder, between our goal and opponent "goal side", with any opponent who is in or near our box.
When the corner comes in we need to do everything in our power to not let the opponents get on the ball in our box "danger zone". Then we need to get the ball out as quickly as possible.
Defending corner kicks is one of the few times when we do not focus on pretty passes or dribblings out of the box. It is often a scramble we need to clear it as hard and fast as possible.
If we win the ball outside of our box can we pass it to Center Forward.

Attacking Corners:
3 Players line up on top of the box to attack cross into the box. Center Forward, Center Midfielder, Wide Midfielder from the far side
Center back near the ball is high near edge of box.
If one of the Center backs takes the corner, the wide midfielder on that CBs side will take her position.
Sometimes we want one of our CBs to be one of the attacking 3 players. In that case we will have the wide midfielder on that side take up her position.
Center back away from ball is in the middle of the field tight on the opposing forward. If opponent has no forward player high CB can push up further
Corner option 1: Play a hard pass into the space between goal and attacking player. Far enough away from goal so goal keeper does not get to it easily. 3 players at the top of the box attack the ball as soon as it comes in, not earlier. We want to be top of the box to create a space where the ball can be played in.
Corner option 2: If no opponent is covering the player near the corner of the box we play a short pass and try to get a shot on net.
Our own GK is on top of her box.
