Two Player Square Passing

Overview

Blue player plays a square ball for the player in red to run towards. Red player picks up the ball and then plays a diagonal pass for the blue player to run on to. Cycle then repeats with the blue player passing square passes meanwhile the player in red passing diagonally.

Coaching Points

Match pace passes: Maintain standards during session, passes should be flat and hard passes. Technically, head over, knees bent, feet facing direction of pass.

Forehand & backhand receipt: Utilising forehand and backhand receipt.

Forehand receipt

Left shoulder facing the oncoming ball.
Head over knees focused towards the on-coming ball.

Backhand receipt
Point right shoulder towards the intended line of direction.
Left hand in front of your right and in line with your right knee.

Connection on the pass: Players to have a connection with the receiver before making the pass.
