Shadow Tag w/ball
Organization:
Gridded Off area, players partner up with 1 ball per pair
Instructions:
On Coach's signal the player with the ball is trying dribble through the area, the opposing player is the shadow and is looking to stay with the dribbler (not looking to tag or steal the ball) After a set period of time when the coach yells "Freeze" if the shadow is able to extend their arm and touch the dribbler they get a point, if they can't the dribbler gets a point. Roles switch
Coaching Points:
Head up when dribbling to see space and traffic
Messi Touches vs Ronaldo Touches
Ball out of feet after the move and acceleration into space
Progressions:
Progression-Shadow has a ball a follows the dribbler
Progression-Shadow can look to steal ball, if the shadow steals the ball the dribbler becomes the shadow
