Technical (15 mins)

Dribbling Technical (15 Minutes)

Session Aims - To improve Dribbling technique and inccorporate and utilise the different surfaces of the foot - To improve decision making on dribbling towards targets comforably within a pressure enviroment.

Organisation

- 4-6 Red & Blue Bibs

- 8-12 Players (8 Used within Diagram)

- 4-6 Balls (For Rotation)

- Area: 30x25 Rectangled area.

Drill Layout -

Players are selected into two groups (Reds & Blues in Diagram) - Only applies as teams for Skill

Players have one ball on each opposite side. And an example for each zone is shown above how to dribble through the cones. Players can think of new ways to dribble through these zones. Players will Have 7 minutes on each zone before changing over.

Key Points -

- Ensure players are making correct contact with the ball and making use of all surfaces of the foot

- Use the Coaching Process to Correct any bad habits or technical breakdowns

- Encourage players to focus on dribbling the ball will a consistent fluid movement

Progressions -

Player's must now alternate their use of dribbling through the cones on each repetition.

Session Aims - To improve Dribbling technique and inccorporate and utilise the different surfaces of the foot - To improve decision making on dribbling towards targets comforably within a pressure enviroment.

- 4-6 Balls (For Rotation)

- Area: 30x25 Rectangled area.

Drill Layout -

Players are selected into two groups (Reds & Blues in Diagram)

Two players on each team start on the corners of the area (As shown in diagram), The ball starts with either side and the objective of the drill is to pass, and work your way around the opposition in the middle which acts as a Rondo with the focus of dribbling. To score points you must dribble to a corner teammate and give them the ball. Then the roles swap and the corner player then takes possession and enters the Rondo.

Progressions -

Players have 15 seconds to dribble into a corner player.

Each player must have possession before you can dribble for a corner.
