Description

A short, fun, small sided game designed to be played at the end of a session. Ideal for the younger goalkeepers.

Screen 1 (15 mins)

Set-Up-

1. Small pitch area marked out dependant on amount of players.

2. A goal either end.

3. A marked out shooting zone.

Exercise-

2 small teams and a goalkeeper on each side (in shooting zone). Players use their hands to throw the ball to team members attacking the opposite goal. Once within the marked shooting zone a player can take a shot using feet, head or throwing at the goal. Goalkeeper must attempt to save the ball.

Rotate goalkeepers on regular basis.

Reflection Points/Look Out For-

1. Goalkeeper distribution skills to look out for when playing the ball to a team member.

2. Outfield goalkeepers footwork and throwing skills when attacking the opposition goal.

3. Goalkeepers handling and shot stopping skills when receiving/saving the ball from attackers shots.
