Organization:
- Players in pairs.
- One ball per pair.
Instructions:
- Players pass and move around the area. On the coach's call of "Battle," the player with the ball looks to maintain possession, while the partner looks to steal.
- If a player in possession is able to hold onto the ball until the coach calls "freeze" they are awarded 1 point.
-If a partner is able to steal the ball and keep possession, they are awarded 3 points. Play for 10-20 seconds before shouting Freeze.
- Play 2 min rounds, with players keeping score after each 'freeze' moment.
- Change partners for each round. Players should be partnered up with teammates of similar ability.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Encourage players to keep the ball in motion at all times. Don't let the ball rest.
- "Assess your surroundings - do you have the option to take on your defender, or do you need to protect the ball?"
- Keep your body between the defender and the ball, with the foot furthest away from the defender in contact with the ball.
- Low body shape, with arm out to feel for the defender.

Progressions:
Player in possesion when coach calls "battle" can score on any of the 4 small goals. Defender looks to steal the ball, and can score on any goal except from the one their partner was closest to.

Progressions:
Instead of a coach calling "battle", players must come up with their own trigger to start the game. An example of this would be after five passes between the pair, the player receiving the fifth pass can then go to the goal.

Organization:
- Two small-sided fields set up.
- 2v2 on each field.
Instructions:
- Goals are scored into the mini nets (no goalkeepers).
- 2 points are awarded if all players on the attacking team are in the opposition's half of the field.
- 1 point awarded in all other cases.
- 2 min games then rotate teams.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- "How can you make your play less predictable and keep the ball away from the defender?"
- Shield the ball until you can identify the most effective way to penetrate - pass, dribble, or shoot.
- Attacking mentality - create a supporting angle in the opposition half as quickly as possible.

Organization:
- Conditions lifted
- FIFA rules
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Emphasis on maintaining possession (individually or as a team) when under pressure.
- "What are your challenges in keeping possession in a more game-like environment?"
- "What can we do to overcome these challenges?"
