LA Stars Premier Game Day Formation (Scenario C) for Goal Kicks:

This particular goal kick scenario is a little more creative and takes a collective synergy to understand the fundamental dynamics of the set up and movement pre goal kick, as the ball is travelling and post goal kick.

1. Set up in a defensive formation as per goal kick scenario (A) & (B).

2. Once set up is in place, players 3,4 & 5 make a lateral movementy with tempo and turn to recieve the ball down both sides of the penalty box.

3. Players 6 & 7 create width in anticipation of the goal kick. The movement of players 3,4,5,6, & 7 should create a passing lane down the centre of the field.

4. Once all of the above movement has taken place, player 2 proceeds to play a firm pass into the passing lane down the centre of the field. Player 6 & 7 must make a lateral run back into the passing lane to recieve the pass and create attacking options. Player 8 must look to join in offensively if we maintain possession and defensively if the ball is turned over or if the pass from the goal kick is intercepted.

5. Again, the key fundamental of this goal kick is the reaction and defensive formation players 2,3,4 & 5 take up as the ball is travelling, and the reaction of players 6 & 7 if the ball is turned over from the goal kick.
