THE SESSION: Objective: Deny forward passes through the lines, by pressing and cover
4v4 Defending Wave - Players must stay in their channel but they still must cover and prevent forward passing (Unit Work) The aim is to work the ball to the opposite team (From the diagram - The reds look to play through to the yellows). The team who receive the ball on and the team who let the ball through go off. The ball can only be played through once they have crossed half way.

THE SESSION:
- Purple team receive the ball from the coach and try to score in the big goal.
- Red team have to defend as a unit, win the ball and play into the small goals to score.

7v7 if you score you lose a player. If the other team scores they lose a player and you gain a player back. First team to lose three players without conceding.
PROGRESSIONS: Lift conditions

1. Nearest defender to ball presses
2. Covering defenders take position from the 1st defender and ensures they can see ball and other attackers.
3. Communication between defenders and GK
4. Ensure defensive shape offers pressure on the ball, cover of pressing defenders and balance off the rest of the pitch to provide a compact defensive shape
5. Defensive screen to prevent opposition through balls breaking defensive lines.
