Essence:
To work on posting up from a transfer from fullback to halfback whilst under pressure from defenders
Structure:
- A begins with the ball, he passes to B
- B can either carry quickly into space or hold looking for a pass from the 3 attackers between the strips
- The three attackers in the strips will be marked by 3 defenders and have to post up hard for the ball
- Once one side has been the other side can go
Technical pointers:
Attacking:
- The halfback who has the ball doesn't want to accelerate straight into space, this will reduce the time the attackers have to post up and create space. Instead he wants to move slowly and wait for the post up
- Once a forward has the ball he has the choice to shoot or pass and move
Defending:
- You want to front mark and stay tight (man to man) can only tackle two handed (Palm 2)
- If you win the ball you want to get it back to the full back

Attack vs Defence
Essence:
To get the attackers used to posting up in the circle or away from the circle with pressure from defenders
Structure:
- 4 defenders start within the strips and can only move once player A has passed the ball to B
- C,D,E can only move once A has passed the ball, but they need to touch the strips before they can become active and receive the ball from B
- One defender needs to step out and put pressure on B
- If the defenders win the ball they need to pass the ball back to A on his forehand
Technical pointers:
Attacking:
- After 5 minutes bring them in and discuss with the attackers what they can do to make more space from the defender with them and what kind of runs they can do
- If there is no keeper present get them to shoot early and make sure we have a player in a deflection zone and if a keeper is present we need a player/players to be ready for the rebound
- After 15 minutes talk about how player B can make the teams job easier. If he moves slower he gives his teammates more time to get to the strips and post into areas. if he goes quicker he gets into danger with a defender and makes the attackers job harder.
Defending:
- The player who steps out to meet player B wants to force him into the corner and down the line as opposed to inwards towards to the circle
- PALM 2 (pressure, agression, low, mobile and 2 hands on the stick)
- After 15 minutes ask the players how they can set up to make their job easier, do they want to front mark or man to man or do they want one person to cover the ball to goal line. Get them to discuss
