Organization
- 10x30 yards each third (adjust for different ages)
- 16 players. 3 groups (two groups of five, one group of six)
Instructions
- One static defender in the center of the third of the area.
- 1: Player 1 passes the ball to to Player 2 after he/she checks away from the defender to receive the ball with an open body position.
- 2: Receive the ball with the back foot.
- 3: Make a pass to Player 3 to finish off the exercise.
Rotation (shown in the middle field)
- 1: Player 1 follows the pass and now receives the ball in the middle.
- 2: Player 2 joins the back of the line behind Player 3.
- 3: Player 3 will repeat the play by starting the sequence again going the opposite way.
Instructions
- Player 5 under semi-oppossed pressure when receiving.
- Player 4 passes to Player 5 to roll the ball tight around the defender.
- Player 5 then passes to Player 6.
Players are to check away from the yellow cones before receiving the ball on the outside.
Coaching Points
- Check and glance before receiving the ball.
- Sharp movement away from pressure.
- Receive the ball with an open body.
- Positive first touch.
- Use back foot if created space to receive.
- Roll the ball around the defender if pressure is tight.

- Work both feet.

Organization

Instructions
- Player 1 plays the ball into Player 2.
- Player 3 is a live defender.
- After receiving the ball, Player 1 and 2 plays a 1v1 to goal.
Rotation (shown on middle field)
- P1: Becomes the defender.
- P2: Joins the line by the side of the goal he/she previously attacked.
- P3: Attacks P1.
Coaching Points
- Communication.
- Check shoulder and glance.
- Aware of pressure.
- Create space.
- Attack at speed.
Progression
2v1 (Third field)
- Player 4 plays the ball into Player 5.
- Player 6 defends.
- Player 4 and 5 play 2v1 in the first box.
- Aim of this progression is to creat space for a through ball in behind or link up to release for a shot at goal.
Player 4 is not allowed in the second box.
Rotation
- P4 will defend next play.
- P5 will join the line he/she has attacked.
- P6 will attack next play.
Coaching Points
- Movement to create space.
- Communication.
- Link up.
- Give and go.

Organization
- 40x30 yards.
- (white team) 4v2 in one half 3v4 in the other.
Instructions
- Game always starts with the GK.
- Can score from anywhere but you are not allowed out of your own half.
- Create space to receive the ball to either play forward or to open up and strike at goal.
- Switch the number of players around in each half to make sure both teams get an advantage.
- If a goal is scored, the player who scored can ask a player from the opposite team to leave the field for 1 minute.
Coaching Points
- Create space to receive the ball.
- Link up with players.
- Movement when not in possession.
Progressions
- If a ball gets played into the attacking half, one player can join the attack to overload the area for that specific attack.

Warm-up (10 mins)
Organization
- 40x25.
- 16 players.
Instructions
- White team pass the ball across the area to each other while the blue team dribble from one end zone to the other keeping their ball under control.
- Players are to move from side to side to see a space for a pass.
- Blue team can count how many lengths each player does.
- White team can count how many successful clean passes (without any touch on the way) they make.
- Switch groups after a minute.
Coaching Points
- Be ready to receive a pass.
- Take first touch off-line.
- Take the weight of the pass by cushioning the ball on connection.
- Accuracy of pass.
Progressions
- Limited touches.
- Receive the ball anywhere on the ouside of the area (sides only).
